- 500g sirloin steak, sliced into strips
- 1 Tbsp canola oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 Tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced

- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions
- Heat the canola oil in a wok or frying pan on high heat until it starts smoking.
- Season the beef with salt and pepper, then add to the hot pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned on all sides.
- Add the garlic, ginger, and bell peppers to the pan and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, cornflour, and sesame oil.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables and stir-fry for another minute until everything is coated in the sauce and heated through.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles.

- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 Tbsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp chopped scallions
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or frying pan on high heat.
- Add the garlic, ginger, and onion and stir-fry for a few seconds until fragrant.
- Add the beef and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned on all sides.
- Add the chopped bell peppers and continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes until the bell peppers are tender-crisp.
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, cooking wine, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables and stir-fry for another minute until everything is coated in the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

- 1 tsp baking soda
- 4 Tbsp water, divided
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 4 slices ginger, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red chili pepper, chopped
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of water with the baking soda. Add the beef and toss to coat. Marinate for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix together the soy sauce, cooking wine, cornstarch, and the remaining 2 tablespoons of water. Set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or frying pan on high heat.
- Add the ginger, garlic, and chili pepper and stir-fry for a few seconds until fragrant.
- Add the onion and bell pepper and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for a few minutes until browned on all sides.
- Pour in the sauce and stir-fry for another minute until everything is coated in the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
