Hot Chicken Salad Casserole
When I first heard the name of this recipe, I was a little confused. How could chicken salad be hot? But let me tell you, this Hot Chicken Salad Casserole is not your grandma’s chicken salad. It’s warm, creamy and packed with flavor. Perfect for a cozy fall dinner or a potluck with friends.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 2 cups celery, chopped
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 1/2 cups cornflakes, crushed
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)
- In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken and chopped celery.
- In a separate bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add to chicken mixture and mix well.
- Pour mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- In a small bowl, combine crushed cornflakes and melted butter. Sprinkle over cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
